ABOUT RHONDA

Brooklin is my hometown. I am an alumni of both Anderson High School, and Durham College.

My family has been here for many generations and we all pride ourselves on working hard for ourselves and our community. My husband and I chose to raise our children here, surrounded by neighbours who are also friends and family.

My career in graphic design began with firms in the GTA until 2000, when I wanted to engage more in my community. This is when I launched The Brooklin Town Crier, a local community newspaper. I believed the community desperately needed a voice to draw people together and help unite residents. The paper still exists 26 years later.

In 2016 I took further my passion for guiding the changes in our community and successfully ran as the North Ward Local Councillor. Since 2018 I have served as your town-wide elected Regional Councillor. I am proven, respected and responsive. This election we will elect our Regional Councillors by Ward - and so I return to running in the North Ward. One Regional Councillor dedicated to you. I humbly ask for you to BRING ME HOME!

My previous roles over the years

My Message to you!

Proven Leadership In 2025, I was named “Newsmaker of the Year” by Whitby This Week for leading the charge to remove unfair 407 highway tolls. I represent Durham at AMO (Association of Municipalities of Ontario), advocating for fair municipal funding. Our new sports centre (my inspiration to first run for council in 2016) is opening soon. And, all 64 action items in Whitby’s Strategic Plan have been delivered
